The last three Flashback Fridays I featured movies by comedy director Mel Brooks. I think I will continue with the mix of comedy and science fiction with this rarely seen comedy by the one and only Jerry Lewis. Let’s go back to 1960 with a silly film called VISIT TO A SMALL PLANET.
Jerry Lewis plays an alien from outer space who gets into constant trouble. He is sent to earth by his superiors to study humans. But his extra-terrestrial antics get him in trouble on the ground just as they did in space. Check out this old trailer:
I’ve actually been looking for this movie for a while, because it Never comes on TV. Like most Lewis comedies, it’s silly and slapstick and there is a classic Jerry Lewis dance scene in it (he always looks like he looses all motor control). But I loved it when I was a kid. I’m actually going to watch it on Netflix as soon as I get a chance. It also stars Joan Blackman and Earl Holliman. Like most of my Flashback Fridays, this might be a good movie for the kids. But you tell me.
