This week brings us a little more than a few season premieres, including new and returning shows. The most anticipated is probably NBC’s REVOLUTION, the dystopian scifi drama by magic man producer J.J. Abrams (though he’s a little hit and miss for me) and director Jon Favreau (the guy that gave us 2 awesome IRONMAN movies). I already saw the pilot, which I included with my review of the show HERE.
Another Scifi / fantasy coming back, to my surprise, is Syfy Channel’s HAVEN. It’s not that the creepy supernatural drama is a bad show that I’m surprised it’s coming back. I just didn’t think it had that big of a following. I think it’s time to check out why the program is lasting. And from the producers of FACE/OFF is the premiere of HOT SET, a reality show featuring film set creators competing for best designs. If the scenarios are as interesting as FACE/OFF the show will most likely feed our need for more geeky entertainment.
Going back to NBC, some of TV’s best comedies are debuting their new seasons on Thursday – UP ALL NIGHT, THE OFFICE and PARKS AND RECREATION. Also GRIMM has moved to Fridays, but new episodes won’t begin until Sept. 28th at 9pm.
The season 8 premiere of BONES airs Monday on FOX, as well as the new THE MOB DOCTOR right after at 9pm. And the only show coming back on CBS this week is SURVIVOR.
Finally HBO’s BOARDWALK EMPIRES starts its new season Sunday Sept. 16th, which is tonight of course.
There isn’t much else this week that caught Geek Soul Brother’s attention, since Scifi, Fantasy and Horror is really his thing. What are you hyped up about as far as new and returning shows? Are you gonna check out REVOLUTION? if you do, tell me what you thought.
