TV Premieres This Week: FRINGE, LAST RESORT, THE NEIGHBORS

Hold on to your tv remotes my geeks cause there’s a load of new and returning Television this week.  Starting off with some scifi excellence, we have the fifth and final season of FRINGE coming back this Friday on FOX.  13 episodes are going to plant us straight into the future with an Observer controlled reality.  The last season showed us that the band will be back together to fight the good fight against the bald headed time travelers.

Also on the Scifi front this week is the all new ABC comedy THE NEIGHBORS.  A couple played by Lenny Venito and Jami Gertz move into a pleasant neighborhood, only to find out it’s populated by aliens.  Good aliens, but aliens none the less.  Personally, I think it looks ultra-silly, but I’ll hold my judgements back until I’ve actually seen the show.

And then there is the other new series on ABC that I’ve already passed judgement on, that judgement being Excellent.  LAST RESORT is ‘officially’ premiering this Thursday at 8pm.  I say officially because it’s been showing on Hulu, Yahoo TV and other sources.  A captain of a U.S. nuclear sub declares national autonomy after his ship is attacked for questioning the validity of an order.  Very dramatic and well acted, this is the show that Geek Soul Brother is most looking forward to watching.  LAST RESORT will be followed by the season premieres of GREY’S ANATOMY and the returning SCANDAL.

CBS has it’s Monday night comedy lineup coming back with HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, the second season of 2 BROKE GIRLS, MIKE AND MOLLY and the premiere of PARTNERS.  But all the laughs stop there as HAWAII 5-O comes back for its new season.  Later this week, the network’s new show ELEMENTARY hits the small screen.  It stars Jonny Lee Miller as a sort of modern day detective Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as Dr. Joan Watson.

So there you have some of the major shows coming back this week.  You can check out a full list at places like Cliqueclack.com.  And remember that REVOLUTION started last week, so don’t miss the second episode.

Geek Soul Brother

Geek Soul Brother is here to give news and reviews from the geek old school. I love to talk about movies, television, books and comics featuring science fiction, fantasy and horror.
