It’s June 7th, and the show that you Faithful TRON fans have been waiting for will be premiering on the Disney XD channel tonight – TRON: UPRISING. I posted about this a little while ago, but I think a reminder is in order, don’t you? Here is some hot Tron trailer action for you to drool over…
As I mentioned in my earlier post, I am feeling the flat, stylish graphics. It reminds me of that Aeon Flux style of movement (the animated series, not the movie… please). The designs are on point. The music is by Joseph Trapanese and is just as rich as Tron Legacy. Which is understandable considering Trapanese produced the Daft Punk sound track for the movie.
Tron ain't playin' no games no more!
Elijah Wood is the voice of Beck our no-holds hero, and Tron is voiced by the one and only original Bruce Boxleitner. Other great talents include Lance Henriksen as Tessler, Emmanuelle Chriqui as the pretty and ruthless Paige, Paul Reubens plays Pavel, Reginald VelJohnson is Able, and Tricia Helfer is the ‘Voice of The Grid’ (but you may know her as SIX from Battlestar Galactica).
Sassy and Dangerous, This is Paige
I watched the first episode – BECKS’S BEGINNING – a few weeks ago on DisneyXD’s Youtube channel (you can see it below). Don’t get it wrong though, I will be watching this on the big screen… in my living room. Even though this first episode is mostly a character intro piece, I can see this as having some good potential, especially if they have great stories combined with these cool graphics. According to IMDB, tonight’s episode is called THE RENEGADE – PART 1.
TRON UPRISING comes on tonight at 9pm eastern on the Disney XD channel. Between this and THE AVENGERS: EARTH’S MIGHTIEST HEROES, I’ll be on XD more than a little bit. Here is the OFFICIAL WEBSITE.
