Yeah, Colin Farrell might be the most popular star this weekend with the ‘new’ remake – TOTAL RECALL, but one thing he can’t boast about is having two of his movies come out in the same weekend. But Christian Slater can.
Slater’s action films aren’t getting the big release, and there’s probably good reason for that by the looks of it. But even in limited release, I have to give the distributors credit for hitting us with the one two punch.
Soldiers of Fortune – Fat cats want a little action in there lives, so they pay Soldiers to take them into real battle situations. This film not only stars Slater, but also Sean Bean, Ving Rhames and Dominic Monaghan. Maybe it was a favor thing. Maybe it was a friend thing. Maybe it was acting charity. Either way check out the trailer, you will see what I mean.
Assassin’s Bullet – Second up is an even worse looking film about a mysterious assassin that’s taking out criminal. That might not be such a bad thing by some standards, but Slater is again, brought in to take care of things. They try to keep the assassin in black but the person looks very much like a woman. Again, there is talent in the film in the form of Donald Sutherland, but you can’t explain why. You know what Slater, do your thing man. At least you’re trying to stay in the game.
Both these films are getting limited releases on August 3rd, so even if you did want to see them, they might not be playing near you. I’m sure you will be able to rent them soon anyway.

dispite this being a b movie a little bit of punch up it could be theater worthy
