This Jet Li film isn’t new, but it will be new to us westerners when it hits theaters in the United States on August 31st. It looks to be a full-blown epic fantasy, and there’s nothing wrong with that. But I have a feeling that you won’t see too much of Jet Li in this one. From what I gather online, this wuxia fantasy is the first major film in the genre to feature modern 3D effects the way it did. Hark Tsui is the action martial arts director behind the feature. He’s the genius who brought us classics like Once Upon a Time in China, Zu Warriors and the recent Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame. If you like the Asian fantasy stuff (like Geek Soul Brother does), this one might be worth the time. Check out the trailer…
