Between the music and the images and the narration of Tom Hanks, CLOUD ATLAS looks and feels like a magnificent story. Based on the novel by David Mitchell, it’s a story about the same souls of people who keep meeting and loving each other from the past to the future. It feels like they put AMISTAD, FIFTH ELEMENT and GHANDI into a blender with a touch of reincarnation to add flavor.
This featurette trailer shows a little behind-the-scenes of how Halle Berry and Tom Hanks felt when making the film. It also stars Jim Broadbent, Hugo Weaving, Jim Sturgess, Doona Bae, Ben Whishaw, Keith David, Xun Zhou, David Gyasi, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, and others.
You know the Wachowski’s work from the MATRIX series, but only some of you knowledgable geeks would be familiar with Tom Tykwer’s RUN LOLA RUN. It was good, but I’m telling you to check out Tykwer’s PERFUME: STORY OF A MURDERER. Don’t be dissuaded by the title, it’s a cool movie to say the least. Combining these three talented people should result in a very unique film experience for us.
CLOUD ATLAS comes out this month on October 26th.
