I have personally been looking forward to the TOTAL RECALL remake ever since the first trailer surfaced. But many had their doubts when they compared it to the original. I don’t know if it will hold up to the original 1990′s TOTAL RECALL with Arnold Schwarzenegger as Quad, because it was so entertaining and a fresh concept for the time, but this feature looks like it will be a cool science fiction never the less. I’m not even a big fan of Colin Farrell, but what I saw at first, I’m on board.
And the one looming question that kept popping up when I asked my geeks about the film (geek brothers that is) is answered in this new trailer that Sony just put up.
TOTAL RECALL is based on a short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by the illustrious Science Fiction writer Philip K. Dick, who had a thing about reality being a shame. Colin Farrell is playing this new version of Dennis Quad / Hauser, Kate Beckinsale might be his wife Lori, Jessica Biel is his partner in crime Melina, Bokeem Woodbine plays Quad’s good friend (or Not) Harry, and Bryan Cranston is the infamous Vilos Cohaagen.
Unlike the original, this story is set entirely on Earth, with two world governments, Euromerica and New Shanghai, fighting for power.
TOTAL RECALL hits theaters in this reality on August 3rd, 2012 in the US. What fantasy would you like to have made real?
