We are back to the classic 70s with this icky sicky from 1976. A storm breaks a high voltage powerline that falls to the ground. You know what’s the best way to get worms out of the ground? Electricity. At least that’s what the fisherman guy that supplies worms said at the beginning of the film. But that doesn’t explain why the worms became flesh-eating creatures that attack by the millions. If you are grossed out my large worms, today’s Scream-A-Day will probably make you – SQUIRM.
Nothing worse than worms that attack en mass. It’s up to Mick and Geri (Don Scardino and Patricia Pearcy), the cute couple of the film, to figure out how to stop the creatures, or at least get out of town alive. All I kept thinking while watching this 70s flick was how did they get so many worms in one place. Actually, the ‘worms’ were more like leeches or some other night crawler blood suckers. The sound effect guys even added a scream to the worms to make them more menacing. Did you ever hear a worm scream? You will if you watch this animal attacks horror from the past.
There you are my geek family. Another terrible but enjoyable golden nugget from my horror film mental library.
