Since my last Scream-A-Day was about the killer ghost of a black guy that could be summoned up by saying his name 5 times in the mirror, lets keep running with the whole mirror thing in this Scream-A-Day.
Kiefer Sutherland plays a former detective turned Night Watchman. He has a wife played by beautiful Paula Patton and two kids. Things are getting better after his bout with alcohol, but when he starts to see strange things in the mirrors at his new job, hitting the bottle is the least of his concerns. As things get scarier, Sutherland’s character Ben has to find out how to stop the evil forces coming out of the MIRRORS.
Now this film was a bit of a chiller to say the least. I always say you can make a good horror film if you can take a normal object or event, and make it the focus of the monster. There aren’t too many people in the world that aren’t surrounded by mirrors and reflections of some sort. Director Alexandre Aja (THE HILLS HAVE EYES 2006) didn’t do a bad job.
Amy Smart as Ben’s sister did catch a bad one. But that’s what you get for not listening to your big brother.
What other films used inanimate object as the focus of fear? Psycho made people afraid of taking a shower. What films have done that since then?
