SPOILERS BABY, SPOILERS
This is a recap of the Episode, minus the last 5 minutes, because I’m mean.
The action is ramping up, and I’m on fire for the one hour season finale next week (June 23rd). Korra is recovering from her ordeal with Tarlok and escaping Amon. She tells Tenzin and Beifong of how Amon took Tarlok’s bending. Tenzin knows that such a bold move of Amon must mean that he’s planning ‘His End Game’. And right he is. Even as he was speaking, the Equalist were attacking and kidnapping the other counselors. They tried to get Tenzin, but he showed them what a true Air-Bending master can do. Personally, I don’t even think that we have seen Tenzin really Go Off with the Air-Bending yet. But maybe after what happened to Beifong, Tenzin isn’t going to hold back.
Amon starts to attack the city with calculated moves. Sato’s air ships start to bomb the districts. And Amon’s men take out the police force. Tenzin leaves to see if he can help and call their military – the United Forces, but asks Beifong to stay on the island to protect his pregnant wife Pema and their children.
Korra, Mako, Bolin and Asami rush to help in the city soon after. Tenzin is being attacked and is overcome at first by Sato’s mech soldiers, but Korra and the rest arrive to tilt the odds in their favor. A Great moment of the fight is when Mako is being electrocuted by one of the mechs, but instead of being knocked out, he channels the voltage back and takes out the machine. Even more interesting was the tweet that I read a short time after from Nickelodeon:
Who is Uncle Iroh? I’ll get to that in a moment.
Just as the gang defeat Amon’s men, they notice one of the air ships heading towards Air Temple Island. Tenzin and the rest rush back, but the ship is close.
Beifong sees the danger coming and tells Pema and the kids to hide. Pema suddenly cries out because, as perfect timing would have it, the baby is coming.
Amon’s men slide down an anchor rope and start to attack. Beifong takes out several of the masked henchmen, but they pin her down with their bolos. She thinks she is done when out of nowhere Jinora comes with the serious air bending attack. Then Ikki takes out more men with some air ball fury and a battle cry “Stay away from my dad’s ex-girlfriend”. Meelo finished them off with a gassy fart attack and air bending more skillful then his age should allow. Beifong was mad that they got into the fight, but was incredibly proud of their courage and skills. When Tenzin arrived, she compliments him on how well the children were taught.
After all the action, Pema gives birth to a baby boy that her and Tenzin name Rohan. The name seemed to mean something special to them, like honoring a past relative.
More air ships come, and Tenzin knows that he must get his family away before there is a chance that Amon can use them against him. He tells Korra and the others to get to a safe place until the United Forces arrive. He takes his family and Beifong with him on an air-bison and two ships follow. Korra and the other escape on Naga by sea.
The air ships start to catch up the Tenzin and the rest. Beifong makes a decision, and tells Tenzin that whatever happens, don’t go back for her. She then tethers back to one of the air ships. Beifong concentrates her bending and rips the ship open, causing it to fall out of the sky. She then leaps to the other ship and, just as she was about to do the same thing, Amon’s men come out and capture her.
The last 5 minutes will have all you Korra fan’s heart sink. But I’ll leave it up to you to watch the episode. The show also introduces a new character who has a very familiar voice – General Iroh of the United Forces. The same Iroh that Nickelodeon tweeted about “Uncle Iroh”? Interesting. I don’t know if Mako really is his nephew, but I like the connection.
WHAT’S GOING TO HAPPEN?
Now it’s onto the one hour season finale next week. Nickelodeon said they plan to run all the episodes before the finale, so check your tv listings. I’m sure it’s going to be a thrill ride and a climatic hour. Will we finally see who Amon is, and will this be the end of him and the equalists? Will Amon win and leave us in a crazy cliffhanger? Will Korra finally Airbend and achieve the Avatar State? By the looks of the finale trailer it doesn’t look like the latter:
Legend of Korra: “Finale: Saturday June 23rd at 11/10c!”

You know, Ang had a Daughter and two sons. Kya was a water-bender, and Tenzin of course is an air-bender. But Bumi, the Oldest son, wasn’t born a bender at all. Just something to think about.
Let me know what you guys thought of the episode, or even the whole show.

Dude, I’m all over this like nobody’s business! I seriously think Amon has either some relation to Aang, or Zuko’s sister, Azula. I know it’s a stretch, but it is a possibility. I’m only bringing the latter as a possibility simply because as crazy as Azula was, she probably spent her life finding that Lion Turtle so she could possibly learn how he did it. Keep in mind that the Lion Turtle is the oldest living animal, and he predates the Avatars. Food for thought my geek soul brother.

The Lion Turtle would explain things. I have to go back and watch those episodes of Avatar to familiarize myself again with the story. Good theories on both accounts.

Uncle Iroh is Zuko’s uncle from the original Avatar series. The appearance of “General Iroh” from The Legend of Korra series, I can only assume is Zuko’s son, whom was name after is grand uncle “Iroh”.

That’s a much better connection than Mako being a nephew of ‘General Iroh’. He is most likely Zuko’s son, or Uncle Iroh was gettin’ busy in his old age.
