Just passing on a bit of news to correct something my friend and fellow Podcast Host of GEEK SOUL BROTHER LIVE – Shu-pocalypse – mentioned yesterday. There was a rumor spreading around like wildfire that Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down) was going to be play DAREDEVIL in the next remake. Reelz.com posted some tweets by the film’s director David Slade (Twilight: Eclipse) basically stating that his original reply to a fan’s tweet was taken wayyyy out of context. The fan basically said she hopes ”SLADE gets back to the Daredevil stuff soon,” and that she hopes “maybe, Josh Hartnett could finally get a Marvel role..“ David Slade responded with a simple “You and Me both”. Seems innocent enough, right? Wrong!
After that a whole slew of tweets and retweets lit up the geek universe. So much so that Slade had to put it out there yesterday on twitter that his comment didn’t mean anything of the sort.
Yep, nope, Josh Hartnett [sic] is not being discussed or anyone else for DD that was just some wishful thinking, we are not at casting stage.
He also mentioned in a later tweet that DAREDEVIL would not be shot in 3D if he had anything to say about it, and FOX is against that also. It’s incredible how things can spread because of a little casual tweeting. But it’s not the fault of the creators, people just have to put that geek passion in check sometimes, myself included. You can check out the whole article HERE. DAREDEVIL is tentatively schedule for 2014.
