Funkadelic have never been known to do anything by halves so it’s maybe no surprise that their first official full length release for 33 years is a 3 CD 33 track monster offering. 2015 production touched by the Funkadelic mind creates a monumental odyssey through the many shades of funk. Highlights on a varied spread of styles are the Jazzy opener ‘Baby Like Fonkin’ It Up’, the slight Don Blackman vibe of ‘Radio Friendly’, the modern boogie of ‘Boom There We Go Again’, the surprising cover of the Four Tops’ ‘Bernadette’, the mellow soul (but with a Funkadelic twist) of ‘Talking To The Wall’ and the lazy groove of the ender ‘Dipety Dipety Doo Stop The Violence’. Nearly 3 ½ hours of music drenched, laced and twisted with that unmistakable George Clinton imagination.
