Great debut album from the Dramatics on Stax from 1971 blends the funkier soul of ‘Whatcha See Is Whatcha Get’ and ‘Get Up And Get Down’ with ballads like ‘Mary Don’t Cha Wanna’ and brilliant atmospheric ballad ‘In The Rain’ a truly genre defining track. The mid tempo ‘Gimme Some (Good Old Soul Music) is also a highlight. Ron Banks and crew are in fine voice throughout and Tony Hestor’s production complement them perfectly. Dramatic Experience incl the hit ‘Hey You Get off The Mountain’ and ‘Devil Is Dope’ classic 70’soul
