The Revelations featuring the raw ‘gruff’ soulful vocals of Tre Williams return with another great 70’s soul influenced album. Tre sounds a little like Anthony Hamilton in places. ‘One Reason To Stay’ is a brilliant mid tempo with a groove and the horn backed ‘Until You Get Enough Of Me’ is another standout, but this album is consistant throughout. ‘I Gotta Have It’ has a 70’s Womack (woman’s gotta have it) influence. The ballads ‘Behind These Bars’ , ‘How Could You Walk Away’, ‘Lonely Room’ and ‘I Don’t Wait’ are very strong, and bluesier ‘Concrete Blues’ has a Memphis feel and also works well. Really refreshing album this is Soul music with a capital S
