‘Patrice’ was Patrice Rushen’s first album that she recorded for Elektra Records in 1978 and followed the massive ‘Shout It Out (released on Soul Brother Records). It includes Jazz Funk gems like ‘Hang It Up’ and the awesome flowing ‘Play’. ‘Patrice’ represents Ms Rushen first excursions into Soul with songs like the funky ‘Music Of The Earth’, the ballad ‘When I Found You’ and ‘It’s Just A Natural Thing’. ‘Let’s Sing A Song Of Love’ has a breezy jazzy Soul vibe. Very strong album.
