Chocolate Milk first came to Soul/ Funk fans with a series of funky albums that reflected their New Orleans roots. By 1982, when ‘Friction’ was recorded the sound had changed dramatically. ‘Friction’ has that early 80’s synth sound that is popular on the continent. The pacy ‘Take It Off epitomizes the approach. ‘Sweet Heat’ is a slower more deliberate 80’s groove as is the horn led and infectious ‘Friction’. The mellow ‘Keep It Coming’ has a quasi Ohio players feel especially the vocals.
