British based Funk band return with their second album ‘This Is Not A Drill’. Impellers’ full Funk sound is centred on a strong horn line and tough guitar riffs and basslines. Funk tunes like the supercharged ‘Hear What I Say’ AND ‘Do What I Wanna Do’ with its raspish female lead vocal typify the album. ‘Politiks Kills People’ is another winner. ‘Signs Of Hope And Happiness’ adds a bluesy soulful flavour whilst the heavy Jazz/ Afro Beat/ Latin groove of ‘Pon Lo Afuera’ is a stomping tune. ‘This IS Not A Drill’ will appeal to the lovers of female vocal led twenty first century Funk.
