‘Galaxy’ is a treat for all Jeff Lorber fans and will appeal to those that like his early 80’s Fusion albums and to Smooth Jazz fans. Lorber has always sustained a fair slice of Funk in his latter smooth days. ‘Galaxy’ includes some Fusion gems like ‘Live Wire’ and ‘Montserrat’, not mention the driving ‘galaxy’ itself. Smooth fans might go for the melodic ‘Singaraja’. Check also the expansive Jazz Funk of ‘Horace’. ‘The Samba’ is another pleasing smooth Fusion groove.
