From 1977 this represented Allspice’s only album offering, aided by production from Wayne Henderson – needless to say the set is a solid blend of soul, jazz and funk akin to his work with Side Effect and Pleasure. The highlight on what is a strong set is the tight, horn laced ‘Slipped Away’, a wicked mid tempo dancer with a b-line to die for! Also great is the mellow ‘Destiny’ and the uptempo ‘Love Fire’. Timely release.
