Trumpeter Lin Rountree has a lovely melodic tone to his playing. Most of the songs on ‘Serendipitous’ are co-written with pianist Nate Harasim who plays on them. ‘In The Day’ ft Althea Rene ,’Gutter Funk’ and ‘Let it groove’ are gently funky grooves. ‘Why So’ ft Anna Stevenson on vocals and ‘Have Some’ are mellow grooves. Good mildly funky smooth jazz album.
