Earth Wind and Fire were one of the greatest bands of the 70’s, their powerhouse sound defined an era.Their first album for nearly a decade sees Phillip Bailey and Verdine White and band in fine form.‘Sign On’ is a strong punchy upper mid tempo and ‘Promise’ is more up tempo with the great horn backing. The slower mid tempo tracks work best especially ‘Love is Law’, ‘Guiding lights’ and ‘Got to be love’. The atmospheric instrumental ‘Splashes’ is very refreshing’. ‘All n All’  it isn’t but ‘Now then and forever’ is a good reminder of what they are capable of.
