From 1979, ‘Street Life’ was the album catapulted the Crusaders from Jazz Funk stars to international superstars. By this time there were only three members – Joe Sample, the distinctive sax of Wilton Felder and drummer Stix Hooper. The title song features Randy Crawford and is a Jazz Funk classic. This deluxe sound edition revisits what is a strong set and probably the last top notch Crusaders studio LP. ‘My Lady’ is a fine relaxed groove, ‘Rodeo Drive’ is a archetypal Crusaders piece, whilst ‘Carnival of The Night’ is another strong compositions. Guest include Paulinho Da Costa, Alphonso Johnson (on ‘Rodeo drive) and Paul Jackson Jr on guitar
