Two albums that Hank Crawford released on CTI subsidiary Kudu. Wildflower is from 1973 and Don’t Worry About A Thing from 1974, both are arranged by Bob James. Wildflower is amongst Hank’s best efforts and features an excellent take of ‘Corazon’ and of Stevie’s ‘You’ve Got It Bad Girl’. His take on ‘Don’t You Worry Bout A Thing’ really kicks as does the aptly titled ‘Sho Is Funky’. Crawford shows his Jazz chops on the swinging ‘Groove Junction’. Must mention Idris Muhammad’s drum playing – absolutely blistering.
