Two lovely Jazz Funk LP’s with a Latin flavour, Ray Barretto released ‘Eye Of The Beholder’ in 1977 and ‘Can You Feel It’ in 1978. ‘Eye Of The Beholder is full of strong Jazz Funk grooves like ‘Here We Go Again’, the Meters’ tinged ‘Senor Funk’ and the jazzy ‘Leti’. ‘Eye Of The Beholder’ was co-produced by Joe Sample, Wilton Felder, and Stix Hooper of the Crusaders ant the set has their kind of silky Fusion style to it. ‘Can You Feel It’ includes the modern Soul gem ‘What Part Of Heaven Do You Come From’ sung by Prince Phillip Mitchell. ‘Can You Feel It’ is another nice mellow Jazz groove. ‘Stargazer’ has more of a Disco Jazz vibe.
