Saxophonist Carlos Garnett recorded this Spiritual Jazz masterpiece for the Muse label in 1974. It includes the original and more percussive version of the Dancefloor Jazz classic ‘Mother of the future’ and the almost frantic ‘Banks of the Nile’ featuring a young Dee Dee Bridgewater on vocals. ‘Black Love’ is a deeply Funky Jazz cultural celebration, whilst ‘Ebonesque’ a beautiful composition. ‘Taurus Woman’ is 12 ½ minutes of mid tempo funky jazz giving the excellent musicians a chance to take solos, Mauricio Smith is excellent on Flute. Black Love has to be one of the best albums of its genre.
