Swamp Dogg’s debut album ‘Total Destruction to your mind’ from 1970 is a cult Southern Soul album.
The uptempo title track and ‘Redneck’ hurtle along, whilst ‘Synthetic world’, ‘The baby is mine’ and ‘These are not my people’ are strong mid tempo songs. The Ballads ‘Dust Your head Colour Red’ , ‘I was Born Blue’, ‘ The World Beyond’ and ‘Everything You’’ll ever need’. Swamp’s lyrics and vocal delivery are an aquired taste but this is one of his best albums.
