Second release on Curtis Mayfield’s Curtom imprint for the Impressions ‘Young Mod’s Forgotten Story’ has that feel of a protest album in part particularly on tracks like ‘Choice Of Colors’, ‘Mighty Mighty’ and the title song. ‘Wherever You Leadeth Me’ is a breezy finger snapping mid tempo dancer, ‘Seven Years’ is a richly produced head nodder with a message, ‘Love’s Miracle’ a great pleading deep-with-a-beat effort, ‘Soulful Love’ a sweet edged ballad and is a highlight on a really solid set.
