Sylvia St James recorded two albums for the Elektra label. Magic from 1980 is a great album produced by Larry Dunn and Lenny White and features the Twennynine band. ‘Motherland’ is a beautiful atmospheric spiritual soul track which showcases Sylvia’s voice perfectly. The mellow grooves ‘So I Say To You’ and ‘Ghetto Lament’ ft Don Blackman. ‘Echoes and Images’ from 1981 features the mid tempo ‘Grace’.
