Cymande’s third album ‘Promised Heights’ from 1974 was their most accomplished. It includes their big funky club track ‘Brothers on the slide’ now a rare groove classic. The percussive ‘Pon De jungle’ and ‘Equatorial Forest’ blends perfectly with the more laid back ‘Changes’ and ‘The Recluse’. Cymande’s music on this album especially has a very calming effect almost meditative in places.
