As one of the original ‘organic soul’ artists to emerge in the early 2000s Ledisi quickly became one of the torch bearers for a return to classic songwriting and instrumentation as the movement swiftly gained momentum. Fast forward a decade or more and we find Ledisi delivering her 7th studio album, and with it, a foray into modern day R&B. ‘I Blame You’, the uptempo dancer ‘Rock With You’, the mellow R&B of ‘Like This’, the angular groove of ‘Mine’ and the 80s feel of ‘Quick Fix’ (both only on the Deluxe Edition) will appeal to those looking for the earlier Ledisi sound.
