James Vaughn is a master electric bass player. If you enjoy the music of the late Wayman Tisdale then ‘Limitless’ is for you. The set is full of mellow smooth-ish grooves like ‘Ecstasy’, ‘Limitless’ and the tribute ‘Wayman’. ‘I will’ is a dreamy vocal ballad of quality. For those that prefer up-tempo smooth grooves check ‘Time Is Now’, ‘Initiate’ and the outstanding ‘Ride Along’. The latter is the finest such groove for some time. Guests include saxophonist Darren Rahn and flautist Althea Rene.
