Saxophonist and flautist Najee is amongst the most accomplished instrumentalists of his generation. On ‘You Me And Forever’, he fuses Smooth Jazz with Jazz Fusion and not a little Funk. ‘Air’ kicks the set off with Najee on flute and a track that gets funkier as it progresses. ‘Fly With The Wind’ and ‘Spectrum’ are smooth and gentle grooves. Frank McComb co-wrote with Najee the lovely ‘Signature’. He also plays all instrumentation except Najee’s soulful sax. Andrea Wallace adds her nice voice to the silky ‘Give It All We’ve Got’. The CD ends on a jazzy note with ‘Jannah’ on which James Lloyd guests on acoustic piano. ‘You Me And Forever’ is the saxophonist/ flautist’s strongest album for many many years.
