Guitarist Chuck Loeb’s albums normally incorporates various styles of Jazz into his CDs and ‘Unspoken’ is no different. His playing has a bluesy feel and has hints of Larry Carlton or Lee Ritenour. The album kicks off with the incessant Fusion-esque ‘Cotton Club’. ‘Natural Light’ is bright and breezy. ‘Happy Hour’ is a fine piece of Smooth Jazz, whilst the Bossa flavoured ‘Way Up High’ features the smoky vocals of Carmen Cuesta. The jazzier ‘Cut And Run’ adds another dimension, whereas ‘Affinity’ is another delicious slice of Smooth Jazz. High quality set.
