Smooth Jazz guitarists has established himself as one of the genre’s most consistent recoding artists. If you enjoy relaxed Jazz guitar led laid-back grooves then ‘The Journey’ will be up your street. The title song and the riff laden ‘Buckle’ that features Najee typify the set. The vocal ‘Just Another Slow Jam’ is a haunting tune. ‘Joint Is Poppin’ is a joyful head nodder with a solid groove. There is some fine guitar playing, none more so than on ‘East Evergreen Revisted, where he sounds very Benson like.
