Released on Strata East label ‘Izipho Zam’ dates from 1969 and features the first version of the legendary ‘Prince Of Peace’ with Leon Thomas’ distinctive vocal taking centre stage. It also features two other tracks of intense Spiritual Jazz – ‘Balance’ and the 28-minute avant-garde and symphonic ‘Izipho Zam’ that has some inspired moments within it. The album features an early Pharoah Sanders collaboration with Lonnie Liston Smith.
