Debut release from 1975 for Los Angeles based multi-piece band Spaceark, this private press album has been coveted for years by diggers but original copies scarely come to market. The set is full of breezy soul dancers, uptempo ballads and fast funkers. ‘Welcome To My Door’ is a minor key gem, the pacey ‘Do What You Can Do’ gained some play on the northern soul scene while the flowing, orchestrated ‘Everybody’s Trying To get Free’ is a good socio-commentary tune. The summery washes of ‘I’m Only Me’ is a crossover gem. Don’t miss this one.
