24th studio album from the unwaveringly consistent Pieces Of A Dream, the smooth jazz masters are back with exactly the kind of sound you’d expect: polished grooves, silky musicianship and well rounded compositions. The funky, bouncy title-track ‘On Another Note’ kicks things off in upbeat style before the more introspective ‘Floating’ breezes in. ‘Kicking And Screaming’ allows Chris Harris’ guitar to major, the satin sheen of ‘Rolling Along’ is archetypal smooth jazz, the aptly named ‘Smooth Dreams’ is a mid tempo ballad while the standout cut is probably the soulful vocal jazz of ‘Real To Me’.
