They are at it again. Those little fishies with the big teeth, chomping on girls with big… er… ah… Hey it’s PIRANHA 3DD. Sequel to the aqua horror PIRANHA which was also in 3D.
In this follow-up, the Piranha somehow get into the ‘Big Wet’ water park. But it’s not just any water park. It’s a park with slides and wave pools and… strippers? Hey, that’s what the trailer said. David Hasselhoff plays himself, and joins the returning cast of Christopher Lloyd as the fish scientist, and Ving Rhames as Deputy Fallon. Check out the trailer:
Wait, didn’t Ving Rhames die in the first movie? Well, I thought so. But this interview with director John Gulager (Fiest) explains how Rhames got into the second movie. It’s actually a funny interview with the low-budget horror director that got his start on HBO/Bravo documentary show PROJECT GREENLIGHT. In the interview Gulager talks about how they compared the new movies with the original ones, and that they thought about using Flying Piranhas. Think that’s insane? Who would make a movie like that? Check out film director extraordinaire James Cameron‘s imdb credits and you will see who would make a movie about Flying Piranhas.
The film also stars Danielle Panabaker, Matt Bush and David Koechner as Chet, who I’m guessing is the manager of the water park with the stripper lifeguards. Not for kiddies of course, it’s rated R.
PIRANHA 3DD chomps its way into theaters this weekend on June 1st. Hey, I warned you.
