Geek Soul Brother decided to get a little deep with this episode when he put forth the question to the crew – How has Science Fiction affected the direction of Science in the past century? What inspirations have scientist gotten from the likes of writers, filmmakers and TV show producers focused on the fictional future of man? I think we shed some light on the question when we went way back to the beginnings of Scifi with Mary Shelly’s Frankenstein all the way to the more present stories like the Wackowski’s Matrix. Who inspired us to go to the moon, or create nuclear energy or foretold the use of nuclear bombs? What technology did shows and movies like The Original Star Trek and Star Wars steer us towards in our current world?
