Geek Soul Brother Live: Ep.25 – TOTAL RECALL REVIEW

It’s episode 25 of GEEK SOUL BROTHER LIVE! This, brothers and sisters of geekdom, was an episode that was a little on the short side.  Mainly because Geek Soul Brother was the only one that actually had the courage to pay money and see TOTAL RECALL.  But the crew did discuss how the 1990 original did a great job as a Sci-fi film on so many levels.  This episode had its share of technical difficulties also, but that’s what you get when things are live sometimes.

After I gave my critique of what I liked about the Recall remake, we really reminisced over how the original Recall was campy, but also innovative with its effects.  MDawg brought up a good point about the original and why it was so memorable with the many entertaining moments throughout.  Yes, Colin Ferrell’s version also had the ‘woman with 3 breasts’, but so many other scenes and storylines were missing.  But still, I stated that if the 2012 movie WAS the original, it wouldn’t have been considered as bad as people are making it out to be, though it did have problems.  After all that we dissed Ferrell’s acting skills, and somehow got to talking about the fall of M. Night Shayamalan.  It was hard to end the show with all the wise cracking going on.

And this was the first show that Artemis, The Private’s significant other gamer, was actually on the call.  Thanks to Smuggling Hams for joining us in the chat, and everyone else that participated.  I’m looking forward to having him join me in a special EUREKA tribute episode planned for this Friday.
