Geek Soul Brother Live! Ep.23 – Remakes, Reboots, Sequels and Prequels

One of the Best Trilogies Ever.

Hey, what’s up my geeks and geekettes.  Here’s episode 23 of GEEK SOUL BROTHER LIVE!  In this nerdy get together the GSB Crew and I tackle a touchy subject in the geek universe.  We discussed the do’s and don’ts, the good and the bad of Movie Remakes, Reboots, Sequels and Prequels.  I offered several questions to the group about what worked and what didn’t.  We concluded what ingredients made a great prequel, and we decided that the old classic trilogies like Star Wars and Back To The Future were better than most of the modern ones.  At one point someone unconsciously became Darth Vader, and somehow Howard The Duck became part of the conversation… again.  We also found out that The Private really didn’t like the Police Academy sequels.  All of my regulars were on the call – El Camino, Toby-Wan Kenobi, Jon a.k.a. The Private, Illuminous otherwise known as Shu-Pocalypes and MDawg, who had to check out early because he wasn’t feeling well.  Get better dude.  And thanks for you guys that were one the chat.

This episode marks the first of a new and shorter format where I took out the TV and Box Office Topics, and just focused on the Main, plus some news.  Let Geek Soul Brother know what you thought of it.

Thursday will begin the second show of the week where we will talk about TV items.  I hope you join in for a listen, or download it later.

Here’s some of the news we covered:

  • The Hobbit Movies will be a trilogy
  • Marvel and ABC might produce a TV Series based in the Avengers Universe.
  • Mark Whalberg and Liam Neeson might do a Neuromancer Movie.
  • Looks like Ant-Man will be shot after Thor 2

You can always listen to past episodes on my GEEK SOUL BROTHER LIVE TALKSHOE PAGE, and from there you can subscribe to it through iTunes.  Leave your comments below and tell me what you thought.  As always, I Hope you enjoy the show.
