Well, since it’s 2012, and the world may end this year, I think it’s about time we featured a Flashback Friday that puts the real meaning in world ending events. WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE delivers just what it says – a planet is on a collision coarse with earth, and there’s not a dag-gone thing we can do about it. Watch the trailer people…
Why did I like this movie as a kid? Well, it had a cool rocket that they were building throughout the film; I couldn’t wait until they launched it. And the feeling of impending doom, with no hope of a solution, was heavy. Finally, WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE portrayed a pretty possible reaction that human beings would make in that situation… loose their friggin’ minds.
If the world was about to end, and there was a possibility of only saving a small group of people, I would like to see it done they way they did it in this movie, and not how they did things in 2012, where rich people bought their survival. Nothing against the rich (I plan on being one of them), but let’s work on saving an even slice of humanity and not a selective few. A modern day version of this film might be Melancholia, though that’s a little artsy in comparison.
WHEN WORLDS COLLIDE stars Richard Derr, Barbara Rush, Peter Hansen and John Hoyt as the rich dude
