My third Flashback Friday of Cardio excellence is the 1987 super-classic sci-fi – THE RUNNING MAN. This film, based on Stephen King’s short story, is one of the highlights of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career in the 80s. With my last two posts dealing with ‘running’ in the title, it was befitting to add one more to the mix.
Schwarzenegger is Ben Richards, a law enforcement officer that defied orders to kill innocent people and became a convict. But because of his willingness to survive and try to escape, he catches the attention of no.1 game show host Damian Killian, played by Richard Dawson – probably the perfect person to play a game show host. Richards gets entered as a contestant in the life or death game, but he starts to win against the other players. His main goal is to disrupt the TV signal so people can learn the truth about the fixed game. If you love those great Arnold one liners and ridiculous sci-fi, this his the movie for you.
