The beautiful Kandyse McClure is joining the Cast Of ‘Hemlock Grove, Netflix’s original program that’s being Produced and directed by Eli Roth.  Deadline.com says the Battlestar Galatica veteran will play Dr. Chausser, an animal behaviorist that is good at messing up her life.  Hemlock Grove is a supernatural murder mystery centered on the investigation of a murdered girl.  The original streaming series will also star Famke Janssen, Bill Skarsgard, Freya Tingley and Penelope Mitchell.  TV Line also reported that Lili Taylor of Six Feet Under will be joining the cast.

Deadline.com brings news that Tom Hanks’ Yahoo Series ‘Electric City’ will be premiering July 17.  It’s an animated story set in a dystopian future.  On the 17th, Yahoo will be featuring the first 10 episodes which are around 6 minutes long, and then show the rest on the 18th and 19th.  All the episodes add together to make a 90 minute complete story.  See the trailer HERE, and this is Tom Hanks and Yahoo! BBC America Plots New Series: Orphan Black -  scifi.about.com reports Orphan Black is going to be featured as part of the network’s Supernatural Saturdays.  The series falls directly in line with genre programming BBC AMERICA and SPACE currently share including the original Being Human, Torchwood and Primeval.  From the BBC Site - Orphan Black follows outsider, orphan and street-wise chameleon Sarah.  After witnessing a woman’s suicide, Sarah assumes the strangers identity – who happens to look just like her. Expecting to solve all her problems by cleaning out the dead woman’s savings, Sarah is instead thrust headlong into a kaleidoscopic mystery as she realizes the dizzying truth – she and the dead woman are clones.  As Sarah searches for answers, she discovers the chilling fact that there are more people like her out there – genetically identical individuals who were planted in unsuspecting birth parents and nurtured in completely different circumstances. With no idea who created the clones, she’ll need to discover the reason in a hurry as an assassin is killing them one by one.

Seems they want to diverge from all the vampire and werewolf craze.  Says Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, BBC Worldwide America. –  “In the talented hands of Graeme Manson, John Fawcett and Temple Street Productions, it promises to be a genre game changer. Move over zombies — send in the clones!”

Amazing Spider-Man is the first film in a trilogy - so says the official film’s Facebook update.  Blastr passed on the news and the quote:

“The Amazing Spider-Man is the first installment in a movie trilogy that will explore how our fave hero’s journey was shaped by the disappearance of his parents.”

I knew that Orci and Kurtzman were being looked at to work on the script of the sequel, but a trilogy will lay out a very nice epic story if they do it right.  Personally, I think James Vanderbilt, who already penned a script for the sequel, did a great job with the first one.
