DESTINATION TRUTH Is Back!

Josh Gates heads up a team in investigators that go globe-trotting to follow legends and reports of the strange and unbelievable.  Their mission is to find the creature/ghost/mutant that locals have reported seeing, or at least bring back conclusive evidence of its existence.  That’s the truth behind DESTINATION TRUTH

I was a fan of the series from the very start back in 2007.  I’m not as much interested in the ghost hunting stuff (Ghost Hunters), because I find that looking for a Himalayan Big Foot or a Mongolian Death worm is so much more intriguing.  But the one factor that really kept me coming back to the show, besides the weird subject matter, is Josh Gates and his crazy humor.  He is the funniest dude there is in supernatural, mystery-hunting reality TV.  His quips, jokes and silly narrations always have me laughing.

Finally, I enjoy the show because they never find anything.  You would think that would be a turn off, but it’s kind of like Scobby Doo and the gang discovering that it was a guy in a mask all along.  Or like Scully arriving too late after Mulder kills the Alien-Monster thing.  I laugh at myself getting excited at the intense moments of the show, knowing that they will only come ‘close’ to seeing something.  But It’s not all without payoffs.  There have been times in the show that unexplainable things have happened.  The plaster cast they made of a huge not-quite-human footprint they found.  Or the time when a guy was tossed across an open field that was supposed to be inhabited by evil spirits.  That was cool, if not unsettling.

DESTINATION TRUTH - a very entertaining show reminiscent of the TV programming I loved as a kid, like the 1970′s IN SEARCH OF.  Catch Josh and his crew on July 10th at 8pm as they come back for their new season.
