Test Your 1990s Sci-Fi Movie Queue!

terminator

Here’s a little search I did on IMDB for Feature Films that were completed and released from 1990 to 1999.  Go down the list and comment on the FIRST movie that you have never seen at all.  If you want to skip movies that you intentionally have never seen then that’s okay, I can’t blame you for your possibly good tastes.  The real test is to see which popular movie you missed completely, whether in the theater or after the fact on TV.  So how far can you get? Past 50?  Past 100?  Past 5? How many people have never seen LL Cool J fight a shark?  Let’s find out.  Just to be clear, Search results on imdb change constantly because of varying ratings, so a current search might not yield the exact same results.  Let stick with this list…

I made it to about 123 – OBLIVION.  I’ve never seen it, or heard of it that I can recall.  And it looks horrible.  Check out the trailer HERE.

I hope some of you go back and watch the ones you might have missed.  And if you didn’t make it pass the first one, you need to attend the Geek Soul Brother school of Classic Sci-Fi, Fantasy and Horror before it becomes critical. Just kidding.  But that would be a crazy job that I would do all day.  Stay tuned for more lists from other decades.  Later geeks.

Although numerous people have told me to, I have never seen ARMAGEDDON (1998). When I finally get around to seeing it I hope it’s as great as people have been telling me it is.

    1. Geek Soul Brother

It definitely depends on who you talk to. But for the most part, it’s a feel good movie with a Go Team America feel to it. Kind of like Independence Day.

Wow…I was rolling along, confident in my lifetime coverage of anything Sci-fi and BAM! I come across ‘PI’ ??? WTH?? Going to have to add it to my Netflix Que. Never even heard of it!

    1. Geek Soul Brother

It’s such a weird little independent. The same guys did Upstream Color, which is another weird artsy Sci-Fi, but done in color. Unlike Pi. lol

I have never seen “Being John Malkovich.” It just seemed to self-aware for me. I may change my mind and give it a view.

    1. Geek Soul Brother

I thought it was interesting and different. It’s not for the average film goer. The puppet thing in the beginning was creepy funny!

I was about to claim 90s movie dominance till I got to the mid decade mark. 156 out of 250. Brought back a lot of good memoirs though.

    1. Geek Soul Brother

You can still claim dominance as most people couldn’t make it past 50. Or even 25. lol I would like to see if we on the podcast can check off all of the films.

I didn’t make it very far. I don’t know if I’ve seen Deep Blue Sea or not. I’ll have to check NF. I may have caught part of it off cable. Then next couple I haven’t seen are Mars Attack and The Faculty. I thought I was a SF geek, but maybe I’m not as diehard as I thought.

This list stump’d a lot of people bro. I might do a new one for next year. Thanks for checking it out. And I saw your site http://www.geekthefugout.com, I went there before and it looks great. Love the content.
